Ok, so sometimes we don't want to give up our personal details online, we get that.
But, when you are making an online purchase, it is ESSENTIAL that you provide the store you are buying from all the information they ask for - and correctly! As a store owner, we don't know that you've changed residential address, we don't know that the email address you provided is "only for PayPal and never checked" or "It's my work address, I'm on holidays!". And "I don't want to give my number cos it's private" As the supplier of your valuable purchased goods, we can only process orders using the information you give us. If we enter that Data incorrectly, we wear the expense of rectifying the errors. But if the customer gives us the wrong info, or insufficient information, well, we aren't to know.. And why do we love a phone number? In some cases, we sell out of items, or your order needs some clarification. If, after we try emailing, we don't get a reply..... We then can only call or text and having an up to date phone number means we get your order to you ASAP; or can give a refund if that's the chosen alternative. PLUS - Our systems, like most other online stores, email or text you order, tracking and other updates that allow you to see where your valuable items are and when you can expect them to be delivered. So please, if you are buying online, give up your contact and address details when asked. Yes, it may mean you will get follow up information, offers and news from the purchaser, but if this annoys you, there's always the "unsubscribe" link.
