A great quality of the FLX Ball is its ability to be used in conjunction with your Yoga Practice
A Yoga Vinyasa Flow, like this one here from Yoga Journal, is enhanced when the FLX Ball is placed between the ankles. This use of the Ball, prevents incorrect form especially in those individuals who are hypermobile and tend to collapse into the hypermobility of their arms and legs.
According to Ray Long, author of Anatomy for Vinyasa Flow and Standing Poses,
“The repetitive nature of Vinyasa takes the joints through an increasingly greater range of motion. Working the muscles this way increases their metabolic rate, causing a slight rise in body temperature, which improves pliability in the ligaments and tendons.” This makes for a great way to warm your body up before a workout, ballet class or rehearsal.
